{"id":254,"date":"2012-08-25T15:01:48","date_gmt":"2012-08-25T14:01:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.knowledgeetal.com\/?p=254"},"modified":"2016-10-26T13:16:39","modified_gmt":"2016-10-26T12:16:39","slug":"using-storify-to-report-on-nhs-shaping-our-future-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.knowledgeetal.com\/?p=254","title":{"rendered":"Using Storify to report on NHS Shaping our Future event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 2010 following a visit (ironically as part of a WHO delegation) to Darfur I contracted <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Graves%27_disease\" target=\"_blank\">Graves Disease<\/a>; thanks to the excellent support and clinical treatment from all of the Doctors at St Andrew&#8217;s Surgery, Lewes and Dr John Quin Consultant Endocrinologist at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton I&#8217;m nearly back to rude health.<\/p>\n<p>So I made a commitment (to myself at least) that I&#8217;d find a way of saying thank you for these two years which is why I spent yesterday afternoon in Bexhill attending a consultation session on the future of the NHS in our county.<\/p>\n<p>It also gave me a good chance to see how they they run sessions like this since my colleagues at <a title=\"knowledge tours = knowledge transfer (understanding puffins and olefins)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sparknow.net\" target=\"_blank\">Sparknow<\/a> (and I) have undertaken similar working sessions in far flung places. Finally it gave me a chance to try out <a href=\"http:\/\/storify.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Storify<\/a> as a way of consolidating the tweets I was posting as the event went on.<\/p>\n<p>And for introducing me to its potential I have to thank <a title=\"The other Hef\" href=\"http:\/\/chrisheffer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Heffer<\/a> who is doing some really interesting things with social business at SAP. Here&#8217;s what I thought about using Storify:<\/p>\n<p>+<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>simple to drag and drop content from social media stream<\/li>\n<li>ability to write summary at the top of the account of the event<\/li>\n<li>made me think about tweets as I had the container in mind when I was typing them<\/li>\n<li>made me think about the audience who might read it<\/li>\n<li>created in less than an hour<\/li>\n<li>can be used to consolidate accounts of an event commercial, sporting or leisure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>once you get over a page you start to lose interest<\/li>\n<li>need editorial skills if a lot of stuff on a subject<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>See what you think.
